About Ms. Hangen
Hi there! My name is Ms. Traci Hangen and I'm pleased to be your teacher! Here's where you can read a little bit more about me!
I was born in Great Falls, Montana where I attended school k-12. I grew up with two older brothers and my parents. My family values exercise, so we lived a very active lifestyle. I played every sport you can imagine: soccer, basketball, swimming, softball, volleyball, and track & field. When I wasn't playing organized school sports, my family was often out and about hiking, riding bikes, skiing, and snowmobiling. We truly did it all! Montana is a beautiful place with wide open spaces to enjoy all things outdoors. I'm truly lucky to have grown up there.
After high school, I went to college at Montana State University in Bozeman, MT. I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in December of 2012. I then decided to get out of my bubble in Montana and moved with my best friend to Denver, Colorado.
In Denver, I began my teaching career. I started out as a pre-k teacher at an early childhood development center. I spent five years living in Denver and taught kindergarten and second grade in addition to pre-school throughout my time there. I continued to spend my weekends in the mountains skiing the Rockies, hiking, and biking.
In 2017, life brought me to the great state of Minnesota. We moved here to be closer to family and am loving our time here! Although we miss the mountains, we enjoy traveling up north to hike and take in incredible views! On the weekends, I'm often biking around the city and kayaking many lakes!
Finally, in December 2018, I graduated with my Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Western Governor's University. I plan to continue teaching in the classroom for many more years. Later on, I hope to one day teach future teachers.
In my spare time, I love to cook and try out new recipes or experience different restaurants. I'm a big fan of the show Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives and love visiting any places Guy Fieri recommends. Finally, I love traveling to new places and of course, visiting my home in Montana. Keep scrolling to view pictures of some of my experiences :)
